"Holiness unto the Lord"

CHURCH HISTORY

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Velma A. Hamilton was born to Pastors Garland & Alma Chandler on May 25, 1950 in a small town called High Point, North Carolina. Velma is the oldest of four children.

Velma Hamilton is a dynamic woman of faith and action. Her early life, raised amidst hard economic times, has equipped her to relate to people of all social walks of life.

As the oldest daughter of two ministers, the author grew up amid the grinding and segregation of the rural South in the 1950s

Her early childhood began in the South where she was introduced to different types of cultures and racial issues. Her first adolescent years of education began with attending an all black segregated school.

As a child, she watched her parents work hard to make a living for their family. The family experienced hard economic times. The small town they lived in did not have many jobs. Therefore, her parents would have to leave her brother and sisters with their grandmother in Norwood, North Carolina, while they would go to work in New York.

Later in 1960, Velma's family moved to California where she finished her education and her family began to experience the better things in life.

On September 18, 1971, Velma married R.C. Hamilton in San Dimas California, and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Both she and her husband were already in ministry but God began to call them to a higher calling. This was the beginning of their pilgrimage, for they dedicated their lives to God and to the ministry of Prayer and Holiness. After residing in Phoenix, Velma and her husband R.C. relocated back to Los Angelis California.  They both could hear and recognize the call of God and knew that God was calling them not only to ministry but to pastor.

Through this pilgrimage God led them to open their first church which was called, Prayer Time Holiness Church.  God was faith to us answering His call to ministry by send us our first faithful member Sister Cora Evans who stood with us for 3 years before we had another member join the church.  As we taught and preached as if we had a multitude, Sister Cora stood faithful.   Sister Cora still standing faithfully with this ministry now for over 33years and is now known as Mother Evans.

Later on God added to the church and we moved our location to 3790 Second Avenue in Los Angeles.  We watch God do great and mighty things. The church began to grow.  God gave us a radio broadcast and we watched him send people to the church who wanted to surrender their lives to God.   As we continued to trust God and seek for His guidance, God called for me and my husband to stretch out on faith and move the ministry back to Phoenix Arizona.  We loaded up the van and many of our faithful members left all to follow Jesus and the ministry.  Once we got established in Phoenix Arizona God commissioned us to establish our headquarter church the King’s Chapel Altar of Prayer Temple.

We found a place that needed much work, and the saints that God had given us were up for the challenge. We begin to work.  As we worked and tore down old existing structures, we watch God. God allowed us to tear down and build up; we built a ministry house and restructured an existing church from the ground up.

Many of our members who followed us have been blessed to start lives with their families and God has been true to His word by blessing many of them to now own their own homes.

Our mission is to establish seven altars of prayers in seven different states, for the trimming of the lamps of the Body of Christ. With this great call and desire to walk where Jesus would lead us, a group of us were commissioned to move to Macomb Mississippi to establish another Altar of Prayer.   When we got to Mississippi we established another altar called Tower Chapel Altar of Prayer. Our next stop was in Oklahoma were we then established another alter called Upper Room Altar of Prayer.  We watch God do great and mighty works by healing people and saving Souls in every State that we went in.

Our passion in ministry has been to have a heart to please God and help His people in any way that we could.  We have feed the hungry, cloth the naked and gave shelter to the homeless. Preached and taught Gods Holy Word when we were received and when others scorned us. Elder Hamilton along with myself vision has always been for souls to won for the Kingdom of God.

After carrying out our task in Oklahoma we then returned to our headquarters church in Phoenix AZ, with the zeal and passion to continue in the work of the Lord and instituting pray altars in the hearts and minds of all believers.  We now have radio broadcast stations in many different states, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ all over the world.  Also we now preach teach, sing and share the gospel and saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and soon coming King on the internet through web casting that reaches around the world 7 days a week 24 hours a day on our website http://www.kcaop.com

As we continue to move forward we know that God is going to continue to bless His people and give us the strength to do His will.  Let Holiness Reign again and it is our pray and hope that we all be ready to meet Jesus when He comes.
